Server Reset Poll

Both creative and survival?

Ever since the original post about why the server should be reset I thought about it a lot. I am most likely among the players that have the most work put into our current map. I have an entire city that I have rebuilt countless times, bases across both peaceful and pvp, and chests upon chests of resources that can rival most players on the server. I know many long time players have lots of work done like myself but put that aside for a sec and look at our map from a new players point of view half the map is a barren wasteland that only shadecrest veterans venture across because of bases of old they have there. No new player in there right mind would pick the side with no ores on it (On the new map leave the ores alone <3) so that leaves half the map for them to build on and even that side is just covered in buildings that no one uses even with the map clean up me and liquid did it barley even helped because of how much there was. As much as it hurts to let all that go think about the server for a second not yourself and before the "I will quit this server if it resets" think of it this way you are going to have to start fresh where ever you choose to go so why not do it with friends and a server you know. Also with a server reset it would bring new life to the Events and Auctions because now the prizes you get will mean something.

So I do think that a server reset would be a good thing for the server BUT well thinking about the server you need to think about those that have been playing on it for a long time as well to completely toss away the work and effort that many players have put into the server is just unfair so I think something needs to be done and my suggestion is to allow players to keep there mcmmo levels or at the very least divide them like we have done in the past. I just don't think it would be right to take everyone's work away with out giving something to make up for it even if it is small and it does not need to be the mcmmo stats just something that all the veterans can agree on. Just remember to think about the server as a whole not just yourself.

In other words, max would probably put up a file of both worlds for us to download if we want it for teh nastalgias.

We will also make an survival games map for it. I'll do it all alone if I have to, but it will be done

i wouldnt rage quit, but i would probally leave for good... sadly minecraft is losing its drive for me, its too easy of a game... there is next to no chance of me dieing anymore.... no risk, no actual payoff... and the exploring is boring now even... i feel i have seen most everything that is cool.... and if i want to look at awesome builds, i can go on youtube of reddits minecraft subreddit.

When does the poll end and if it comes out to a yes when will everything be reset? I say we do it when 1.4 comes out so everyone gets a fresh start with a fresh map in the new update but that's just me.

Are you trying to get everyone together on IRC on Saturday for a big discussion?

Please make a post at the end with all the closed on decisions, i'm not 100% sure i can make it.

Just in case I can't make it here are some things i'd like to see discussed.

- moving currency to emerald instead of gold. less common to mine, but you can still get it from villagers by trading common items.
- set amount of rupies able to spawn in (talked about with 1.8) as in cash4whatever will only have let's say 2 million rupies to give out. Allow it to buy as well so money can get back into the system.
- PvP camps as the PvP spawn
- I would suggest a spawn town for peaceful, but that would make the game even easier, but a way to keep the clutter of houses away from spawn should be discussed.

For the first one: No, because gold is more realistic, and emeralds have a different use, while gold doesn't. (Powered Rails, potions bla bla, idc)

gold can be used to get emeralds but yeah, that's why it is how it is now

And all you need is a sugarcane farm and you can have all the emeralds in the world
