- Added more sites to vote on! You can now get up to 1,100r per day from voting. - Water buckets no longer carry water source block. You will have to be a bit more creative when starting a farm, or use silktouch to get ice. - Endermen may now teleport YOU during combat. It's very disorienting. - Spiders drop web when killed. Above ground it will dissappear, but in caves it will stay.
Ehm, I like the endermen thing, but because I am now not able to transport water, I can start all over with the farm I'm building... Why did you make this choice? This ruins the whole plan I had...
I think that the change with the water buckets is not necessary. What is the reason behind changing this? Just wondering for my curiosity's sake. Also, im glad that there are more sites to vote at. More rupies, and more people seeing our server and possibly joining it
My guess is that the water change is to make silk touch useful (the only really good thing about it was that it could be used on mob spawners, and that was removed). If that is the case, I would have preferred they added something to silk touch to make it more desirable, rather than take away from the usefulness of another item. I don't understand the idea of a bucket that is able to carry lava but not water.
No no, you got it all wrong. The next step is to mine magma blocks with a chain mail pick axe, then to place the magma block and break it with a spider eye in order to have lava because bucket is too easy and should only be for milk. But your right, it somewhat is weird that it can pick up lava but not water, if anything I'd say to make lava harder to transport but not water. Water is neutral, required in several aspects, and should be relatively easy to obtain and transport. On the other hand, lava should be more difficult to use. On a side note, there are already plenty of uses for silk touch without this water bucket issue. Mining ore with silk to collect, then placing and mining with a fortune pic for more items, grass blocks to use for underground farms, ice for craftbook, preserving glowstone, and the list goes on. Those were just a few examples. Maybe we should have a vote for determining if this bucket thing should or shouldn't apply and to what; lava or water. What do you guys/girls think?
I'm with iwilleatyou, I feel that there should be no reason to make transporting water any harder. Otherwise I'm glad with the new voting sites and don't mind the enderman
I would be against making lava more difficult because that would compound with the ExtraHardMode. Since you can't use torches at low levels, transporting lava in large quantities is a necessity. I wouldn't have a problem with lava being harder to transport in vanilla, where torches are still a viable option.
it meshes just fine with extreme hardcore mode. why should you be able to place a source block from a bucket of water. i thought the point of the extreme hardcore -ness- was to make things more like real physics. a bucket that can hold a never ending source of water doesnt make sense. This should be applied to lava as well. if you want to say silk touch is the answer, great. but why not make it possible to enchant the bucket to do what you want?
Because enchanting the bucket is a plugin that lags the server or is MCEdit. Also, this isn't real life. This is minecraft. There are exploding green (leaves) that follow you, zombie pigmen, caveman squidwards, and redstone. Don't compare minecraft to real life because they are two very different things and should be treated as such, why you want to make the two the same is redundant.
hold on, hold on. im not saying this should me more like real life. im saying more "life like" physics (ignoring obvious limitations and things like teleportation and such). why else would we have wood picks unable to break stone, and cobble and dirt fall in certain cases? im just voicing the opinion that i agree with limiting the buckets on the grounds that water from a bucket shouldnt be a source block. also i didnt realize bucket enchanting would be MCedit and/or lag the server.
If you think about it, an explosion wouldn't turn a rock into cobblestone, it would destroy it, and a bucket shouldn't hold a source block if there were no exploding (leaves) trying to blow up your house, or if you didn't have the ability to hold 2304 1 meter x 1 meter blocks in your pockets.
i see what you are saying. and I agree, there are many aspects of the game that are not physically possible like the ones you mentioned and certainly many others. i can tell we could go on and on about technicalities and how and what should and should not be allowed but that is up to Max and others. strickly speaking I know it is a game and i wont pretend to know what you are thinking but i am getting the "its a game" point you are trying to make here.
I understand your point too, I just feel like making the game harder isn't the same as making it more fun.
ok now i see. and agree with you entirely with one reservation, pending the reasoning for this water bucket change: Fun - bragging rights >Difficulty + bragging rights
