I was reading on the original thread and Dragon thought that bumping up the prize for voting was a good idea. What if voting on all available sites given yielded something like an emerald or a diamond? Something that would take multiple days of voting to get something awesome; like being on the server for 3 days would get you a diamond pick essentially. and a month would be a full set of diamond armour.
Merely an idea, I don't really play on the survival so I'm not familiar with the intricacies of your economy. How about 200 or 300 extra r then?
Stuff like that would need to be thought out just to be sure in the future it won't ruin the economy.
About the economy, we shouldn't try and limit the ways to get money, but increase the ways of spending. Charge for warps like events, pvparena, and private warps. I remember talking to a few oldies and they said one of the points about the server that weren't so good is that you can warp nearly everywhere you need to. Also, if possible allow death chests for everyone, but charge for using it (toggle command), and the VIPs get it for free. Things like lottery and casino can help as well.
Also bringing back the large auctions to take a good amount of money out of the economy. (and nerf it as well, i dont want to be handing out bedrock/endportals or god enchanted items every week)
We had costs for warps at one point just about everyone hated it including myself. I just avoided the use of any warp and people did not want to pay to go shopping at someones shop. I like the death chest idea though. That would essentially be what we have now. The current Mini Auctions is about a half way point between the old mini and what the large was the only reason its different from the large one now is there is no bedrock, endportals, or god enchanted items. If anything we can increase the set gold amount again.
i was on a server once that had 2 currencies money obviously and bedrock (obviously placing it was disabled) but they had some plugin where you could change what villagers traded so players could trade there bedrock to villagers for all kinds of different things obviously better items costing more bedrock, players would also buy and sell their bedrock to each other. the villagers were all at spawn and you were not able to kill them. so basically it makes it so players can vote get bedrock and spend there bedrock on whatever they wanted or save it up and get something nice essentially picking there own voting reward. i liked it what do you guys think?
Moved this from the plugin thread: How about having a weekly mini-game of Hypixel/Block_Fortress' Death Sentence Arena (I know you have events already and I don't know how they work). the idea being if you get the all time record for how fast you get to level 20 you get reward 'x', if you just win the round but don't beat the server record you get reward 'y' and it is also nice to be able to execute everyone afterwards . You could even set it up as an instance sort of thing where everyone is randomly tp'd to the arena and then returned once it is over (don't know that would be set up and it would suck if you were busy or AFK so maybe not)
OOOOOOooooOOOOoo! Is there any way where we can make it so you have to pay to open your death chest? If so, we could [1] Keep others from stealing your death chest, and [2] make a reduced death chest unlock a VIP perk.
When I joined Shadecrest it was fun constantly stuff to do (and events didn't happen regularly). Descent PvP heck other the Forgotten Cliff I didn't know the other non-PvP towns. But to me what really kept me going was having a objective mine at the time being to get into money top 10 which I did and now that I think about it and this is not being critical of anyone when it was taken away that was when I took my first long break from Shadecrest. Just giving them goals to work towards like money top or mcmmo I feel would help. Easing up on regulation may help also and please don't give me the "Oh look North be a troll again deal." Shadecrest is regulated good or bad depends on the opinion pretty intensely if you want more people make it almost like survival single which very possibly is where we get many people overwhelming them won't help keep them.
To go with my first post: LWC has over time become costly when it was free I feel people felt more secure (This falls under regulation I believe) Making it free again may ease up allowing people to breathe and have fun I play minecraft to have fun not work super intensely just to barely have descent amounts of supplies. Anyways thats my sputter of a opinion/suggestions.
I agree a lower cost of LWC will definitely help new players start off, there are always those complaining about getting their stuff stolen. Maybe also have more broadcast messages that only guests and yellow name can see giving tip commands like /home, /cprivate, /warp oreshop, etc. These are all in the wiki, but really nobody reads it all, not when they first join at least.
