THE UPDATE

i've tried the new blocks of minecraft in the server but the anvils, cobblestone walls and the beacon crashes minecraft and the other blocks dissapear i'm posting this so max can maybe do something about it.

 

listen, the vip server is still running 1.3.2, just your 1.4 client is allowed to connect. So crafting any 1.4 item will kick you from the game.

Just got the following sent to me via text. So what's going on? Have we updated or not? I'm holding off til I know for sure but in the meantime am unable to get on Shadecrest. I am very confused.....

 

u can connect with a client updated to 1.4, but most 1.4 stuff wil make your client to crash when u try to use them

im playing with 1.4 just not using new items

 

But what I want to know is, is it a legitimate update or is it a hack like they are saying?

 

basically, its 1.3.2 but can only be played with 1.4 clients

 

How lame is that? What's the point?

It's so people that have updated and don't know how/are too lazy to get the client that changes your version don't have to. This goes for the ExtraHardMode and vanilla(duh) servers as well.
