Creative Weekly Contest (Oct. 19-25)

New building contest for October 19th through October 25th! Build wherever you want, your build should look like a week's worth of work, be pleasant looking, and adhere to the theme of Roman. (Don't build giant marble things, Roman buildings were prettily painted before they became ruins).

Please post a warp to your build on these forums and state here that you're going to participate.

Voting will begin the 26th and decision will be made by the 30th, the decisions will be made by everyone.

Recreation of scenes from movie 300 anyone?

 

Isn't Sparta in Greece though? Whereas Rome is kinda the capital of Italy?

 

Yes, but I've noticed that Greek/Roman architecture is quite similar in certain aspects.

I'm just drawing my inspiration from that particular movie....and from civcity of course :3

 

Roman architecture derived from Greek architecture, the main difference being Romans used lots of arches rather than columns and they had the ability to make domes.

Well, I am archaeologist and this is not very exact... Roman architecture was revolutionary because their wise use of concrete and brick.
