Hunger Games! Minecraft Style!

Since everyone is happily awaiting events each week, and pvp is always getting better, i had an idea! we have a shadecrest hunger games! each town selects their two best pvp'ers to a selected area. *could be an abandoned town, a forest, a desert, whatever is wanted! ;D * just like the book/movie, there will be chests in a box like structure in the middle, and the players stand around it. the admins, mods, and trusted players, with time provided, could monitor the area to make sure no cheating. The rules would be simple:
1. no leaving the area
2. *because this annoys the living hail outta me* no alliances, not with your fellow town members, not with super friendly nifix's.
3. no hoarding all the items in your inventory. you can be a blatca and puppy guard all the items, but make it so that if people get past you, they can get items.
4. one life, no whining.

i think it would be a fun thing to do every TWO weeks, so we can set up and so people have time to prepare. it would also help in add to our plentiful good things to advertise. especially to hunger games fans who play minecraft!

optional rules:
no armor
a prize? maby like 1 diamond block or something thats not to much.

any reccomedations? i just thought it would be a fun idea, if it is not feasable, just let me know! ;D

 

Manglor and I have actually been extensively planning something like this. In 5 days (Saturday the 7th) we'll be rolling out a complement to Hizeron's games, the PVP Games. While we are just starting out, we will only be doing a few trials of the games, but the selection will quickly expand as the amount of players do. In fact, I had suggested a Hunger Games-esque version, but due to planning difficulties (do we ever have 2 good pvpers online in every town at once?) we're modifying the games a little bit. Rest assured they will be fun, the prizes will be amazing, and the games will appeal to veteran PVPers as well as PVP noobs/peaceful players.

Well what we need is a bunch of players to attend, just like the games/auction. So you could help us out by getting the server as excited about it as we are and spreading the word.

Well we'll probably doing a run through sometime before the games, so they go smoothly. if you're online we'll definitely have you help out.

We have games for people who think pvp is just punching trees. The games are aimed at providing a fun experience to all audiences. So definitely give it a try!

You'll have to get to the bow first or die trying.
Or kill the person who has the bow so that you can grab more important stuff first.

I am working on the new PVP events arena and could use good builders to touch up and clean. Hop on creative sometime and help out.

If the event arena is complete before saturday we will be adding more games to the roster, but for now everything will be held at the coliseum until further notice, which limits the type of games we can play

it wont be hard to find a bow there will be loot chests located around the new pvp arena

This may seem like it is to much, but if any mods/admins can livestream, then I think it would be cool if they were invisible and could move around the map every so often and give a good bit of entertainment to the rest of the community, just a thought!

 

I was planning on live streaming the events this weekend, but I'll be out of town if a mod/admin is interested in doing this, here is the website i was going to use: http://www.own3d.tv

It gives you a program to download that records/live streams, and you must send in an app to ask for a live stream channel, mines got approved in like 2 mins.

 

I don't livestream, but I am recording the games. I can add them later.

The only reason we had a single game for the events is because the arena was not finished, we are really limited in space at the coliseum, that and an oversight on my part to change permission for capture the flag caused that game to fail.

We have other games planned but I'm open to suggestions, now that the arena has be moved to the main world we can do a lot more to plan the games
