This is an expansion on Max's original idea here. In this thread you'll be able to post what roles you'd like to be a part of, and some of them will have room for people from all servers. Post something along the lines of what your IGN is, what Shade Crest servers you play on, what role you'd like to have, why you'd be good for it and can be trusted for it, etc. I'm going to place a guess that Manager positions will probably be reserved for staff since they have full control and passwords of the page. If you have any suggestions for other roles people could help out with feel free to post, this was just a quick list. Voting sites Manager Updates the voting sites with relevant information. Writers/editors* Write and edit server info YouTube Manager Manages the page and uploads the videos. Content creators Create informative or entertaining videos on Shade Crest (eg. my list) Featured channels (NB: This hasn't been discussed, is just an idea) Maintain a YouTube channel and list shadecrestsmp as a featured channel. High preference to channels which focus on minecraft/shade crest DevianArt - Not sure how it works, talk to Legend Manager? Submitters? Facebook/social networks Page admins Keeps the page updated and decides what gets posted/what doesn’t. Content providers Send screenshots/videos to the page admins Could have a general server media thread like the FTB server has Community reps Spokesperson Post fully/partly formed ideas Part of the community Community (This is everyone! No app needed) Come up with and form ideas Bad: It’d be cool if we could have this Good: This plugin (link) would be a good edition to the server because of this and that, even though some might find that difficult
I'm ndvenckus1, I play on survival long time, have played on creative on and off since the beginning (whenever I'm in a building mood), and I enjoy long walks on the beach. As far as positions I'd like to be a part of, well, I would be fine with doing just about anything on this list, but there are a few things I think I would excel in and some I'm already actively doing. As far as voting sites/other webpages, I'm knowledgable in HTML and CSS, and could actively style/update any page that needs styling and/or updating if need be. I've got a knack for writing, so if we need long, detailed explanations written out for any of these pages, I could manage this as well. I've already got two YouTube videos of the server up here, and more on the way. I'll be recording the whole PvP tourney if possible, and I've got a PvP tutorial coming as soon as I can get my desk set back up, my internet issues fixed, and enough volunteers to make it a thing. Any tutorials or showcases needed for the server, like those mentioned in moose's list, I would also be happy to make.
I'll do my best to run the DeviantArt group, although with its size atm, it's reasonably self sufficient; once we get more submissions then it'll require more regulation. How it works is basically. You make an account, upload your pics to it, and then add it to the SC group for it to appear there (be sure to add to the right folder). Then tada, it should appear in it reasonably quickly. I'm not to picky with what you peoples submit at the moment, just so long as it's to do with SC. If I'm missing a folder, or want something added, just tell me. I'm also happy to assist in the running of the FB page if you want me to.
I can help by being a content provider for social media. I take plenty of pics and such. I also often submit shadecrest things to reddit. If theres someone I should talk to about this, tell me. I'd love to help!
Probably the only way we can mess with the page design is if the text is on a really long image (500x4000) and we just embed that instead of text. Probably not worth it IMO, harder to make quick changes and would probably look tacky. And I'll put you down for writing, although we'll probably go for short, punchy and informative. I'll probably get a group pm going for this with everyone interested, so we can have our discussions there too. If we were to go with my idea of the featured channels, we could upload your pvp tourney video on the official channel, and have links to your main channel. We'd also feature you on the side. Since I only thought of this position while I was writing this post, so will see whether or not people think it's a good idea. This we could probably get a thread going for, since we never know who'll stumble upon something interesting/funny imaxorz How soon can we get the ball rolling on this? sharqman and I could do survival, Pieman_Is_God can do creative and SG. With the changes coming to survival and creative soon, the information is going to be even more outdated, which would just throw off anyone that reads it.
Hey I have been on ShadeCrest two years now :3 and I have noticed that Facebook page is rather not that informing and doesn't keep things up to date, I've always wants to help out with this anyway I can. I would love to be able to keep the social networking under control in someway such as being admin of the Facebook page. On another note I was thinking of creating various social networking accounts for Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and even Vine. Some could be used just for funny screen shots (tumblr, vine) and the other two could let people know what's going on in Shadecrest various updates. If I have missed any social networking sites please say and I'd be happy to make one, lemme know what you guys think and I'd be happy to keep any and all of these things maintained. I would love to create content for the servers, marketing content like promos and trailers, I am studying media and ICT for GCSE (General Certificate Of Secondary Education) which is a British qualification, kind of like SATs and ACTs for all you mericans, I am also entering a game dev challenge if that has anything to do with it. I am also learning Dubstep creation as a side project. I sometimes create images for the church I attend (It's quite modern), for example, I created the logo for the Kids Church there which you can find here http: imgur.com/6BAjCey
if you need one i would like to become content provider... i could make screenshots of famous shadecrest builds write some information about them and give it to a page admin... just an idea. i would like to help updating the shadecrest creative pmc page always willing to help you know
IGN: iiDreamzzHD I play on shadecrest survival and sometimes SG. I don't like to build so creative really isn't fun for me, and FTB is annoying cause I don't know how to do anything haha. I'd like to be the Spokesperson under community reps. I think I'd be good at that specific job because of the fact that I'm always thinking of new things to make shadecrest more enjoyable. I suggest new plugins and just plain ideas on a regular basis and although some of them don't get added it's the ones that do that count. And last but not least I am a trustworthy person as I'm a mod and have been here for a little over 2 years so I wouldn't do anything to harm the server.
My IGN is kizzyfazzle. I play on Creative and Survival most nights,only sometimes on FTB because I have absolutely no idea what to do on it.... I also play on SG to pass time. I don't really mind what position I could get I just can help out with the SC community in as many ways I can I consider myself pretty trustworthy and like I said I would like to help in as many ways as I can.
