    For a while now, I've been adding and tweaking small features and posting about them in MCF bumps. Unfortunately, those updates don't get back here until months later when I can be bothered to pull updates from Trello and make a "This Week(s) in ShadeCrest" thread. Here is a thread for all those mini updates!

    Clearing out a few changes in the backlog, so this will be a longer post:

    News bulletins in /mail!
    To notify players in-game of changes, we've made a system that hooks into the existing mail script. This uses minimal resources, and will only send the message to a player when they log in.

    Pages in /mail!
    /mail read now supports multiple pages, just use /mail read <N>. This was added to combat the potential for screen filling spam by mail.

    Login spam removed!
    All of the unnecessary login messages have been removed after some minor config tweaks.

    Limited /tpa!
    These commands now do what /wild <player> does; after warping to a random location, you can use them to regroup with your friends!

    Restrictions using /wild removed!
    Previously, members (green and up) were unable to use /wild pvp or /wild pve. This was to prevent abuse, but unfortunately when really old players returned, they had difficulty starting fresh. Using /wild for raiding is still illegal, don't do it!

    Soulbound reworked!
    Soulbound now has a flat 50% drop rate for all items and slots (less confusing), and works much better with pvp. If you are killed too close to another player or killed in pvp, soulbound will not recover items due to player interference. This way, players who are raided in pvp actually have a chance to get their stuff back!
    This increases the cost to pvp back to what it used to be, which is not great. This may be tweaked in the future to only apply to the inventory, and have armor/hands always have 50% drop rate.

    Satchels v3.0!
    Satchels have been greatly improved this time around. Here's the changelog:
    • (Non-empty) satchels display fill percent
    • Open satchels can be moved in your inventory
      • If the open satchel is dropped in any way, the gui closes
    • Fixed multiple item eating/duplicating bugs
    Not that you'll need to open existing satchels before they start displaying percentages.

    QuestWorld location fix!
    Forgot to post this one, finally was bothered enough to go fix location detection for quests, along with a number of other bugs that other servers were having with the plugin. Yay!

    FluxShop
    A new kind of admin shop has been created (after an entire weekend of code). The problem: without more players online, we don't have enough actively maintained shops to run a functioning economy. Also, creating and admin shop buying/selling would create a fixed price, and flood the server with either infinite items or rupees. Not goood.

    Solution: FluxShop
    1. Limited stock and storage, only so many items can be sold at a time.
    2. Stock normalizes over time, trying to always be at half of max capacity.
    3. Buy/sell prices are scaled by 4x, giving players enough room to start their own shops.
    4. Based on sales/purchases, the price will fluxuate up and down.

    Forum rank in game
    I've been struggling with how to get more forum participation. Teamspeak has a clear benefit (voice chat), but the forums have been a tougher pitch. I've decided to make a new rank, forum member, and give it out to players that have joined and posted on the forums.

    It uses the dark green color, and will display over the citizen rank (light green). New and guest (yellow and gray) can also be given this rank, but it will not display until they've ranked up to citizen. Permissions have not been decided yet, but it will have some fun stuff!

    Shulker boxes are now supported by LWC
    Satchels have been updated to interact correctly with Shulker boxes
    Excavation quests have been reworked, the remaining quests are in progress
    More shops were added to FluxShop (located behind /warp mall)
    New players will see offtopic by default, but they can leave that channel

    Fixed a bug where pitch/yaw got inverted when going through a nether portal

    I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this but, what is the number mean that is above players heads?

    The total levels that a player has earned through mcmmo skills.

    Slight change to McMMO tags:
    • Now based on a 2000 level increment (instead of 2600)
    • Numbers in tags now match power level (2 -> 2000+, 4 -> 4000+, ... , X -> 10000+)
    • Added new tag for maxing every skill

    Announcements have been reworked (again!) and now have fancy placeholder black magic. Now we just need better messages to take advantage of that...

    Updated the vote page, replacing Minestatus with TopG (minestatus died, rip). All 5 listed sites work now :)

    Soulbound has been disabled because it haphazardly tries to fix symptoms rather than a problem
    Added the ability to directly lock diamond and emerald blocks for region protection
    If you don't respawn for 30 seconds after death, you are now kicked to try to prevent items from despawning while afk
    The market is being reworked to have a better layout. You can see the glass sketch in the air above the current market
    Satchels have been made much cheaper, go check the new recipes on floor 3 of /warp museum
    The mining reset has been changed to require 2000 votes due to a higher rate of voting

    This poor thread needs more love.

    Mining reset will now include the mining nether (as it should have) and correctly sets the world border
    Combat and mining quests have been reworked and are much more balanced now.
    The market has a new layout that feels much more markety

    I've updated the plugin to fix submission issues after quests are modified. Woooo.

    TownyTweaks
    Made permission nodes for each town rank. I know it doesn't cause issues, but I don't know if it works yet, we'll find out after a restart!

    Big change: /plot set biome supports a lot more stuff! It now ignores case, underscores, and whitespace! Also has configured aliases so you don't need to know the "bukkit" name of biomes to have it work.

    Are you able to tweak fishing rewards? I feel this was done to villy trades to make the books harder to get, but with patience it's still quite easy provided you have a rod.

    New updates!

    Homes
    Finally fixed homes not updating when you change your name. There are still some issues that could come up because the plugin doesn’t use UUIDs, but it should work a little better.

    SleepLite
    I’ve made a new night-skipping plugin named SleepLite to address issues in our previous one. Here are the main changes:
    • It can ignore players in spectator and creative when counting players.
    • Night will not skip unless a minimum of 2 countable players are sleeping.
    • If 20 players are sleeping, the ratio of sleepers is ignored entirely and night is skipped.
    • Messages now appear in the action bar, rather than spamming chat.
    • All of the features above are configurable while the server is running.

    Should add a chance of narcolepsy on players who aren't sleeping when the night is skipped.
