You can dig up a cake.
    A cake.
    Why.

    -edit-
In the suggestion board, is a suggestion. I haven't done anything yet.

    How is this better?
The items make more sense and have a better distribution without clumping the same rewards into every single block.

    But there's less stuff.
Are you really going to miss inventories full of cake, records, eggs, and mushrooms? Because those items were in nearly every block and really liked to fill your inventory. But these are not final, I can still add more things if they actually make sense.

There's no glowstone in dirt, that was really useful!

There's plenty of glowstone in the Nether. I worked hard to make portals actually work, it'd be nice if people actually used them now and again. But seriously, it makes no sense to have glowstone in dirt.

But you put nether quartz in sand!
Silica sand is a real thing and is quartz.

    Muh diamonds!
Stop that. Diamonds have no business in dirt. That and the current drop rate allows for effectively infinite digging with a normal diamond shovel. No.
    Also I hate fun.

While I will miss my insane amounts of glowstone dust, this seems like a reasonable approach to reward players who dig a lot, while maintaining rarity and scarcity on some items. I appreciate this thought.

Mine as well pop in some thoughts. I agree with making things more categorized. However I think an argument for keeping the diamonds in could be had. At least to a compromise a lower percentage. It's one of the very good reasons people attempted to work hard on excavation. So that they may get diamonds from dirt.

And what to do with so much dead bushes?
