The plugin we have on vanilla to add 1.8 features has now added nearly all of them. I would really like to put it on survival and creative as well, so that we can use all of the new blocks (banners, prismarine, red sandstone, colored fence, colored doors, etc). Unfortunately, this requires all players to use 1.8.*, and I know a good number of you are still using an old version. It won't be long until spigot releases an official patch for 1.8, so I'm making this thread to convince the stragglers to update their client! FAQ: "But I need optifine to play, otherwise my fps is too low" Try using the new 1.8.1 pre-releases or Optifine for 1.8 "Anvils don't work with 1.8" The plugin update handles anvils and enchanting tables correctly with 1.8 clients
I got 1.8 all ready to go...just waiting for optifine..and no I'm not gonna use a pre-release...also I'm using an organization mod...I forget the name but that 2 hasn't updated yet...honestly I'd just wait...sure we'll get the new blocks but half the fun is going out and getting the blocks from mining...least with the prismarine...some ppl are super stubborn and won't wanna go to the 1.8 yet....*points to self*
SkittlesQueen Seriously, try out the snapshot versions of 1.8.1. They are much better than 1.7 and 1.8
Yeah I'm using 1.7.9, and use optifine. Happy to use 1.8.* if it works properly Anyone know if there's a compatible minimap yet?
What's wrong with trying to get players to update now? Especially when this already exists. When the official patch is released, we'll use that. But 98% of the new features have already been added through that plugin.
