My friend can't eat. Help?

He's saying that when he holds down the button to eat, it does the animation continuously and it won't heal his food bar. He's up to date with 1.8.1, he's tried changing the controls, and he can eat in single-player and other multiplayer servers. Apparently he can't use any crafting tables or furnaces, so essentially, his right button control doesn't work. Does anybody know why this is?

 

does he have any mods installed? try deleting the .minecraft folder (might want to back up any mods, pics, saves)

 

No he says he doesn't have any mods installed, but I'll tell him to delete .minecraft just in case.

EDIT: He deleted .minecraft and it didn't fix the problem. Thanks for the thought though.

 

tell him to check if his mouse is fully functional to lol

 

He has a green name and is using the main world i also tried having him teleport to my home he got the invite but was unable to teleport there.

And his right click does work just not with eating and such.
